3 YEARS TOO LONG

Credit: Versillee
3 years too long.
She has counted the ceilings over and over
She knows every crevice of the room like it’s her lover
With sunken eyes, she stares anyways
She has thought of escape in many ways
Escape from the cruel hands of her abductors
Escape from their horrid voices
Escape even in the form of death
Her maker she is ready to meet.
The footsteps she so dreads,
The same footsteps she hears.
Her heartbeat she could hear,
Giving away the fear she felt.
Once again, a girl is taken
Once again the fear of oblivion comes craving.
Her name is Aisha, She is a Chibok girl

Tell her parents she is alive and awaits her rescue.
