Africa Day celebration lights up UBA

Colourful African attires brightened Monday morning in UBA’s offices across the continent on May 25, 2015 as UBA staff turned out in their best African dress styles to celebrate Africa Day.  Africa Day is an annual celebration across the world. As a pan-African financial institution, UBA uses the day to celebrate its multicultural identity on the continent.

At UBA House in Lagos, traditional African dancers welcomed UBA staff, dressed in different traditional attires into the building.

A key part of the celebration at the UBA House was the search for the best dressed male and female staff.  Oghenetega Adah, dressed as a female Itshekiri bride, emerged the winner with the highest number of votes in the female category while Salaam Saheed, who was garbed as a Yoruba king, clinched the first price in the male category.

In UBA Kenya, the Africa Day began on a high note with various members of staff showcasing their unique African inspired attire as they reported to work.
