UBA CELEBRATES AFRICA DAY 2019

Every year, the world celebrates Africa Day- a day set aside to celebrate African diversity, highlighting the cultural and economic potentials that exist in the African continent.

Every year also since 2010, United Bank for Africa commemorates Africa Day in grand style.

Being Africa’s Global Bank with operations in 21 African countries not forgetting New York, Paris and United Kingdom, one can only stay prepared because as always, we spare no effort.

 The day began with a cultural display troupe performance from various African cultural settings ushering in staff who were adorned in beautiful traditional attires representing different African cultures.

 The head office was fully decorated with unique African themed decorations adorning the building.

 A major highlight of the event was the crowning of the best dressed male and female in African attires. Every year, staff compete for the position of best dressed. They come dressed in extravagant outfits showcasing the rich African cultural heritage.

This year saw two winners, Oluwo Oyindamola (female) and Oluwafemi Oniyide (male) who emerged through the highest votes by other staff.

They were rewarded with an all-expense paid trip to Namibia.

After the winners were announced, the Africa Day cake was cut.

Another major highlight was the surprise performance of legendary musician, Sir Shina Peters.

 The Afro juju crooner thrilled staff with hit after hit and in turn, they sang and dance to every song.

The evening ended with a cocktail party
