The top 100 companies, which were selected by BusinessDay Research and Intelligence Unit (BRIU) in collaboration with Jobberman survey, made use of workplace metrics such as company culture, salary and benefits, non-salary benefits, prestige or company brand, management integrity and commitment to staff welfare.

To arrive at the top 100 most respected companies BRIU’s researchers polled 11,982 respondents scattered across the six geo-political zones of Nigeria namely; Jos, Kaduna, Abuja, Sokoto, Gombe, Bauchi, Akure, Enugu, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Benin city.

“We sifted through thousands of companies before arriving at the top 100 most respected companies” Frank Aigbogun, Publisher of BusinessDay Newspapers, said in his speech at the event.

Charles Aigbe, Divisional Head, Marketing and Corporate Relations, who was at the event to receive the recognition on behalf of UBA, thanked the organizers for affirming  UBA’s position as one of Nigeria’s most respected companies, saying that the bank has worked hard over the years to earn the respect of Nigerians and build an African brand that is respected globally.

This was the outcome of an evaluation exercise carried out by APT Brand International Limited in association with Vconnect Global Services and the Certified Board of Administrators of Nigeria, CBAN.

The criteria for selection of the Top 50 Brands Nigeria included market acceptability, corporate social responsibility, vision and innovation, popularity evaluation, and customer service delivery.
