The Workout Playlist

Whether you are a workout pro, disciplined to the core, or an occasional visitor to the gym, who works out when the ‘spirit’ dictates, you need motivation to get your body cracking each time you hit the gym. What better motivation is there than music? Yes, music!

The importance of music during exercise cannot be over-emphasised. Research backs this up. A study published by Brunel University suggests that carefully selected music can magnify performance and help you gain more benefits during exercise. In other words, with the right music, you can go for longer and harder regimes with magnificent results from each workout.

So here are our top 2016 workout songs. Update your workout playlist and get fired up for the workout of your life!

1.   Sia - Move Your Body. The 4th track of her 7th studio album, “This is acting”, is an up-beat hit with highly motivational lyrics that is guaranteed to get you in the right workout spirit anytime.

5.    Fifth Harmony - Work from Home ft. Ty Dolla $ign This song is packed with the full dose of motivation. The song is so hot; it already has over a billion views on YouTube.

6.    Sia Cheap Thrills remix (feat. Sean Paul) – This is another electrifying track by Sia infused with Sean Paul’s energetic dancehall rhythm. It is a certified banger, especially for aerobics.

7.    Rihanna – Work feat. Drake – This hit track from Rihanna and Drake, aka the official ‘twerk’ anthem, has been around since January but is still as hot as it gets when it’s time for workout.

8.    Olamide – Who You epp ft. Phyno & Wande coal – It certainly wouldn’t ‘epp’ [help] you not to have this monster hit from our very own Bado on your workout playlist.
