HOW TO CONTROL EXCESSIVE EATING




Ever opened up a pack of biscuits with the hope of having two or three slices, only to find yourself peering into an empty packet?
Excessive or overeating is easy to do, especially now that you are mostly home and can easily indulge in a quick meal or snack. Fortunately, there are many tactics you can use to stop overeating. Here are a few tips to practise;

1. Eat breakfast every day

Starting each day off with a healthy breakfast can reduce the risk of overeating later in the day. Maintaining a regular eating pattern and filling up on the right foods especially at breakfast can keep you feeling full to reduce these cravings throughout the day.

2. Stay hydrated

Drinking lots of water frequently is an important way to prevent overeating. Often times, we eat when in actual sense, we are actually thirsty. So instead of grabbing a bite, why not grab a glass of water?

3. Eat regularly

Many people skip meals in the belief that it will help them lose weight. On the contrary, skipping meals can cause you to overeat. Eat smaller, more frequent nutritious meals instead of skipping meals all together.

4. Clear out the junk

Replace junk foods with healthier foods like fruits, vegetables, protein-rich foods, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. These foods improve your diet and reduces your risk of overeating unhealthy foods.

Other tips include; being more aware of food choices, controlling portion sizes, and identifying eating patterns. These can help limit overeating and curb appetite.
While this habit takes time to overcome, practicing these helpful tips can help you get eating back on track.
